Bellinzona is the capital of the southern Swiss canton of Ticino. It is known for its 3 medieval castles. These include the Castelgrande and the Castello di Sasso Corbaro. Both castles offer views of the city, the surrounding Alps and the Castello di Montebello, the third castle. The Museo Villa dei Cedri exhibits regional art from the 19th century to the present day. One of the original elements in the restored Palazzo Civico is a fresco from the 16th century.
